There are numerous beautiful waterfalls in Kauai, including Waipo’o Falls, Wailua Falls, Mount Waialeale Falls, and Opaekaa Falls, but probably none as famous as Manawaiopuna Falls, also known as Jurassic Falls due to its feature in the opening scene of the movie Jurassic Park. The only way to see this waterfall is from helicopter, which makes it one of the top sights on our tour!
Want to learn more about this magnificent sight? Check out some facts below:
- Manawaiopuna Falls is a 400-foot-tall waterfall located in the Hanapepe Valley in the interior of Kauai.
- The waterfall is located on private land owned by the Robinson family who also own the island of Ni’ihau.
- In the movie Jurassic Park, this waterfall is located on the fictional island of Isla Nubar.
- There are no known trails leading to the waterfall. It is surrounded by a beautiful, lush rainforest.
If you are interested in seeing Manawaiopuna Falls there is no better way than an Air Kauai Helicopter tour. Experience the magnificent beauty of the movies with us! Here is what some guests have to say about the experience:
“My husband and six year old went on the tour and it was the highlight of their trip. All the staff was amazing and great with our son. Even called him by name and asked him is he saw any dinos. Our son is a huge Jurassic Park fan and loved the air tour.” - CNWeber85
“Great experience. The pilot had flown close to mountains and shore lines to get the clear visibility of plantations, waterfalls. The ground staff was very friendly and nice. It is worth the money and highly recommend to others.” - vijinara
“An absolute must if you visit Kauai! Best way to see the island, the waterfalls, and the Na Pali Coast! The Air Kauai pilot and people were very friendly and accommodating!!! I will do it next time we visit!” - scottastaggs
“There is no way to adequately express the VALUE and meaning this tour had for all of us! We had saved to come to Kauai last year for my husbands' 60th and son's 15th. Well, then Covid happened so this year we were fortunate to come for the 16-61 tour! 10 days before the trip we were told by a family member that we had to do a Helicopter Tour and definitely doors off! We were lucky to secure a spot (EVERYTHING has been booked for a long time) and we are so grateful we got to Air Kauai! Makile (sp?), Bobby and our pilot Kelby were EXCEPTIONAL making our adventure a lifetime memory our family gets to share! AND we didn't know but found out we also got a video of the whole experience video while we were flying! Truly so, so grateful for this experience. If you're going to do a tour this is the organization to use and definitely do it doors off! You're safe and they make sure of it!” - Jennie M
